Today would of been my grandfathers birthday. You never think that the day will come when your hero has to say good bye. For me we did not have those words. Just one night he left and went to live out his eternal life. It is rare that I have a good day because I felt that my grandfather was my only true friend. there are things that he only knows and there will be secrets of his that I will never let another hear. It is hard to cherish the days when the one person that I want to see me “Make It” is no longer here. Some people call church their sanctuary, for my grandfather and I it was our front porch. That’s where we laughed, cried, and shared info that makes me the man that you see today. Although I stand strong on the outside, on the inside I feel like crumbs. No one can understand that nor would I try to explain. When Charley Neal left my tolerance for non sense got thin. I can never understand how people can treat something so precious like life in a manor that if they mess up, they can buy another one. I learned the hard way that there is one life and that death is more than real. I have yelled for my grandfather to wake up everyday since he has died and he is not coming back. Some times I hope that maybe I’m having a nightmare, but I am not sleep. Even though I see life moves on, for now I refuse to. What else is there to do? After the sneakers, clothes, parties and work there is nothing more for me. But while I do work I will grind to make sure what ever I am working on I am the best at that moment. Because my grandfather is sitting watching I wouldn’t want to slack. The one thing that I am glad of is that life has started over for him. No more suffering and having to stare at this cruel world from here. I love my grandfather dearly and I miss him the same. Happy Birthday to Charley Neal…. My one true hero!

So…I understand there is to be a Heal Detroit Rally this Saturday…and it was announced that rappers…Al Nuke, Trick Trick, Royce, Lodge Boyz, Seven The General, Big Herk, Stretch Money, DJ Fingers, DJ Detroit Streets… <— O_O …of WJLB FM 98… all known Detroit fixtures…will attend…some will congregate on 7 Mile Road on the Westside…starting at Greenfield…and also on the Eastside…starting at Van Dyke at 12:00 PM…there will also be a performance at 3:00 PM…………..that’s all to the good…and it’s super that you want to help tone down the violence within the city…but the rappers stated…not to be an ass…their whole gimmick is murder and drugs…I’ve listened to them all…and so after years of putting out music glorifying the opposing matters…you want to teach the kids different?…dudes parading around on YouTube, TV and radio talking about how Detroit is so “hood”…we so “cutthroat”…speaking about it as if it was something to proud of?…I don’t buy it yo…the rally is one day…what about the rest of the year?…miss me…the teachings and upbringings come from the home…not you dudes

The reason for this vid by the ever so clever English band…I was explaining to co-worker why Twilight just barely makes Boogie’s acceptance circle…in my opinion…the whole vampire love story bullshit is just so dry…like 90 year old crotch dry…and let’s just throw in werewolves…oh sorry…”shapeshifters” into the equation for the hell of it…kill me!…the BEST vampire movie…no it’s not Blade damn fools!…it is Interview With a Vampire…now that’s movie for your ass…Brad Pitt…Tom Cruise…Antonio B….and some other ppl I can’t remember…lol…I seriously don’t understand what the big fuss is…they actors in my vampire flick can make other films and score awards…while Twilight actors just flop in films that don’t have the title Twilight in it…I watched both movies and seriously died inside…only having to revive myself once I escaped out the movie theatre…the ONLY good thing Twilight gives to the public are the soundtracks…with big names such as Paramore, Muse and Death Cab To Cutie contributing…it can’t help but be great…this jawn “Neutron Star Collision” is the single for the new movie Twilight: Eclipse which hits theatres this month…I think…when it first came on…I had the stink face…but as the song progressed…it was Muse!…and now I can’t wait to hear the rest of the soundtrack……………..I still hate the movies…but not as much as I hate GLEE…OMFG!…that’s another post

Curren$y x Fiend – Flying Iron

Now if you know Boogie…Curren$y has been that dude in my opinion…ever since ’05 when Young Money was spittin’ that hood shit…not serenading hoes in Rosie the Robot voice overs…those days are long gone…and Mr. Spitta is still doing his thing…steadily proving himself tape after tape…this jawn though is typical Curren$y…relaxed and dope…as you see Mr. Whomp Whomp *a classic ref for all you No Limit heads*…Fiend has come along for the ride…he pulls his weight as well…last joint I heard these two together on was “Raps & Hustles” off that Indepedence Day tape…I guess Fiend left the Fly Society behind and hopped on the Jets as well…I’m glad…because T.K. was wack as hell…I can’t remember the other guy’s names…damn……………………..JETS FOOL!

Apple iPhone 4G

So being an active #TeamiPhone member…I had to post this bad mofo…as you probably know this is the new iPhone 4G…it was just released two days ago that this will grace the public June 24th…in your basic black or white…16 being $200…and 32 being $300…with the OS 4.0 on deck….now supposedly…as expected…there is a list of added goodies to the iPhone roster…Facetime (old news…sorry Apple), Retina Display, Multitasking, HD Video Recording and Editing, 5 Megapixel Camera with FLASH!, and Tethering…but a bad bit of news…AT&T is trying to change the unlimited plans to limited data plans…only for new subscribers though…sucks to be you bandwagoners!…once again though the iPhone 4G will be out June 24th…and for you bums that will pass on the greatness…you can d/l the OS 4.O from iTunes…BUT…it will be missing some specs depending on what make you have. So save up those pennies folks…this will be a must have

Ahh…those Midwest duders…Mikey Rocks x Chuck Inglish…honestly…I’m is not a uber fan of The Cool Kids…they have a couple songs that I can gig to…but overall…they’re just ok…my homies seem to think they’re just dope as ever…so I decided to d/l their new tape Tacklebox…and give them another go round…to my suprise…the tape gets plenty play on my iPod…I guess they are one of those groups that you have to let grow on you…I passed on the needle when everybody was on the “Black Mags” kick…now I can actually give them an ear with appreciation…intstead of listening for no damn reason…or because they’re what’s “in”…anywho…this is my standout jawn right here…”Summer Nights”…beat produced by Chuck Inglish…the song is just dope period…everything flows…from the smooth sample to Tennille’s soft voice…don’t believe me…take a listen…Boogie doesn’t cosign bullshit

This my personal opinion of the top 5 mistakes that indie/unsigned artist make in their careers

 Read them and tell me if you agree or disagree:

1.) They don’t know the music business – Plain and simple the music business is 20% talent and 80% business. Please go invest in this book and learn the business; “All You Need to Know About the Music Business” by Donald Passman.

2.)Unprofessional (Not handling business) – If someone sees that you’re not serious about what you’re doing they are not going to take you serious. If you choose to be in the business then handle your business !!

3.) No Marketing/Promotion or Bad Marketing Promotion – If you’re an unknown artist and your mktg. plan consists of putting up links on twitter all day then you will probably always be an unknown artist.

4.) Not Identifying your Target Audience/Demographic – If you rap about selling drugs you may not want to pass out your cds at the local skate board shop. Do your research and get your music to the people you identify with.

5.) Not establishing a brand – Your name and everything you do is all attached to one thing, that one thing is your brand. Whether or not you have a brand is up to you.

What’s good with you all. I am just taking time out to say thanks for all the Birthday wishes. My phone, Twitter, and Facebook has been jumping all day. All the love is much appreciated. I didn’t think this would be the best of days best it has not been the best of times.

But although there are bad days it is hard to think about them because all of you keep me going and keep my spirits at an all time high. I have developed great friendships in a short time and continue to be amazed by people that look out for me. Thank you for all and I will continue to go hard for my city….. Detroit!

What is good every one. Sorry that I hae not been blogging like the usual. I am on the sickest schedule at the moment. I have been recently orgainizing many events, doing a stack of school work, and still trying to be a good family member. Lol with all of that I have not been able to post good music that is still in my email and put everyone up on all the new things that will be coming out.

I will get back on it, but for now I am going to take a vacation in Vegas and try to do me for once. To all the artist that send me music, I have sorted through your tracks and I know what I am going to post. I will be posting all of your music as soon as I touch back down. I am blessed to get so much good music from our local artists and now I am starting to get a lot of good music from other states. I will honor my word and post your music. According to reports, George Clinton Jr was found dead Monday at his home in Tallahassee, Florida. Reports say that his body was discovered by a maintenance man who was checking on his welfare after he had been unheard from for several days. Police say the death is likely due to natural causes, as there was no indication of foul play.

My dude RB Kidd hit me up letting me know he wanted to be in his upcoming video. Of course I wasn’t going to pass up on the opportunity. When I met up with him at the shoot I had no idea that I would get a whole skit. It was an honor for me to be in my dude video. Both Kelly Rowland and Rihanna have been fighting to get Jasmina Anema, a bone marrow transplant for over a year now.  Rihanna took to her twitter account to announce that Jasmina died from her leukemia last night.

At 10:55 on January 27th, after a long battle, Jasmina lost her fight with leukemia. Thanks for all of your support.

Back in November, Jasmina went to surprise Rihanna on her album release day at an in-store signing.  She was diagnosed with leukemia in January of 2009.  R.I.P. Jasmina.

Haiti was hit with another earthquake as this registered a 6.0. The earthquake was centered about 36 miles from the capital of Port-Au-Prince. It caused panic amongst the people in the streets but there were no injuries, reported just yet.
