This ranking is in no way an “official” Top 10 Photo Tumblrs list, but more so ones that we follow and enjoy on a regular basis. We are sure there is a myriad of great original photo Tumblrs and we hope to come across more, so if you have any suggestions, feel free to let us know. What this list is, is a compilation of ones that showcase original photos. Re-blogging is great, don’t get us wrong, but we just wanted to put the spotlight on originality.

The Audi R8 GRAND-AM customer sport race car will make its debut at the Rolex 24 this weekend in Daytona. The race marks the beginning of the Grand-Am road racing season with teams APR Motorsport and Oryx Racing each driving one of the new cars.

The race will start on Saturday, January 28 and end on Sunday, January 29 at 15:30 Daytona local time (CET -6 hours).

Rag Bone fans probably are aware of their ongoing DIY Project which showcases some natural beauties sporting their apparel, but in case you have missed this section on their site, here is a little look at what it is as part of our Menswear’s Better Half series.

We are genuine fans of the this project. There’s something awfully appealing about stylish women looking natural without the aid of styling, make up, or lighting. These raw shoots are created with simple point and shoot cameras in various locations such as the beach, bathroom or apartments.

These features have seen some rather familiar faces such as Miranda Kerr, Carolyn Murphy and in this case, the lovely Hanneli Mustaparta. The Vogue.com contributor is seen here looking amazing in some basic tees/tops, jeans and a varsity jacket. Enjoy!

Missoni and Converse have already unveiled some great Fall/Winter 2012 shoes that are definite contenders for sneakers of the year, but noticeably absent from that preview was the Chuck Taylor. The two have released a few already that were definite hits, so we figured it was only a matter of time for more to surface. Well, Tres Bien has presented a nice glimpse of what will be the latest Chuck Taylor from the two and we must say we’re feeling ‘em. Everyone involved in the creation of “Red Tails” will tell you that it was no easy feat to get the movie into theaters, but now that struggle is being rewarded. The film debuted at #2 in the box offices and Ne-Yo believes that all of the hard work paid off. “I feel like we definitely did what we set out to do, which was make sure these incredible men, the Tuskegee Airmen, got the recognition that they deserved for the incredible things that they did for this country,” Ne-Yo told MTV News of the George Lucas-produced film on Wednesday.

“And [we] proved to Hollywood that an ensemble cast of black faces can put asses in the seats, basically,” he laughed. “So I feel like we served our purpose.”

“Red Tails” tells the story of the Tuskegee Airmen, a group of African-American fighter pilots who battled deep-rooted racism, while fighting in World War II. Both Terrence Howard and Cuba Gooding Jr. star in the flick, while Ne-Yo, Method Man and Tristan Wilds have supporting roles. The historical piece hit theaters January 20, the Friday before Martin Luther King Jr. Day and opened second behind “Underworld: Awakening.” Not bad for the singer/songwriter, who was also named senior vice president of AR at Motown Records.

Considering the movie wasn’t especially well-received by critics, “Red Tails” did well in its first weekend, surpassing initial expectations. Lucas appeared on “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart” earlier this month and claimed that major studios showed no interest in the film when he went to pitch it.

“It’s because it’s an all-black movie,” he said. “There’s no major white roles in it at all. It’s one of the first all-black action pictures ever made.”

“We’ve come a long way from when Martin was marching in the streets and getting rocks thrown at him. We’ve come a very, very long way,” Ne-Yo said. “However, even with that being said, we got a long way to go. As a black person, period, we’re kinda constantly in a state of proving, which is something that I came to wraps with a long time ago.”

Despite the studios’ lack of interest in the film, Ne-Yo decided to let the success of “Red Tails” speak for itself. “At the end of the day, you complain about it, or you prove them wrong,” he said. “I feel like this was a matter of just proving them wrong.”

D’Angelo back? On Thursday the RB/soul singer performed his first show in over a decade when he rocked in Stockholm, Sweden to kick off his current European tour. Fans all across the world got to enjoy a bit of the performance as footage quickly appeared on YouTube yesterday. The “Brown Sugar” singer was all smiles as he rocked “Chicken Grease” from his 2000 sophomore album Voodoo.

The critically-acclaimed Voodoo was released 12 years ago this month, it was the last solo album he released. Over the past ten years D’Angelo has battled a number of legal and drug issues and has dropped out of the spotlight only to reemerge with drama from time to time. In recent years industry insiders have been a buzz about a third D’Aneglo comeback album, though not much is known about the release.

Whatever the case, the neo-soul singer did resemble the D’Aneglo of old in the footage of his Stockholm concert. He wore black pants, a black tank top and a black scarf around his neck. He bounced back and forth on stage engaging with fans. RapFix couldn’t be there, but judging from the crowd reaction fans seemed to have a great time.

Before he was known strictly by his middle name, Aubrey Drake Graham was known to millions of North American teenagers as Jimmy Brooks, the wheelchair-bound former basketball player who occasionally rapped awkwardly on Canadian television series “Degrassi: The Next Generation,” from 2001 to 2009. And while he recently admitted to Rolling Stone that he’s typically offered roles playing rappers or athletes, he’s hoping and preparing for a chance at his dream role: President Barack Obama.

Drake Makes Up With Tattoo Artist, Another Fan Gets Drake Tattoo

This isn’t just a passing fancy, as it turns out. Drake’s been trying to actualize this idea through interviews for more than a year. “I hope somebody makes a movie about Obama’s life soon because I could play him,” he told Paper magazine in July 2010. “Anytime I see him on TV, I don’t change the channel, I definitely pay attention and listen to the inflections of his voice. If you ask anyone who knows me, I’m pretty good at impressions.”

“I’ve been reading scripts for awhile,” he told Rolling Stone this year. “I want to do something great. I want to do something for my culture: the younger people who are still in tune with everything going on. I’m actually writing with my friends right now.”

Drake’s biracial heritage gives him a similar complexion to Obama’s, and they both happen to hover at just over six feet tall. He’s already proven that he’s got charisma when it comes to the camera, and the work ethic needed to get through a grueling film shoot.

Ultimately, if Drake really is a good impressionist like Affion Crockett (who has famously impersonated him), he actually might not be a bad candidate.

Tyga released the much-anticipated “Rack City (Remix)” today featuring a veritable who’s who of hip-hop with Wale, Meek Mill, Fabolous, Jeezy, and T.I., all adding their own two cents to the infectious strip club anthem. MTV recently caught up with Tyga and the boys in Atlanta earlier this month at the music video shoot for the track to talk about the buzzy cut. Tyga explained how happy he was to have rappers he looks up to like Jeezy and T.I. contributing to his break-out.

“I didn’t think the song would be bigger than outside of L.A., because that’s like an L.A. sound,” Tyga said. “So to have two of the legends that I’m big fans of on the record is crazy.”

“For me, I got reached out to. They told me to add my two cents in, so I did just that,” T.I. revealed nonchalantly on how he got involved. “When they told me the video was coming, I picked out an outfit.” How gangsta, Clifford. Jeezy explained similar sentiment. “I heard the record, loved it, seen it go crazy in the club. I couldn’t visualize it without a Young verse on there, so I just went ahead. The homie hit me up for the video, and we in the A-Town, we in the city, we here, turnt up,” said Jeezy.

Wale had similarly positive vibes for the song and joked about its fiscally-forward influence on strippers. “I’m just happy that I can be a part of a record that’s influencing and making so many young, ambitious dancers so much money.”

Tyga’s debut Careless World: Rise of the Last King is slated for release on February 21, 2012. Expect additional guest features from fellow Young Money affiliates like Drake and Nicki Minaj. “You’re going to see more of a story and more into Tyga’s world and what I represent, the story that I’m trying to tell,” Tyga explained to us about the album last year. “I feel like a lot of people they just know me based off of verses, features, heavy rap songs, mixtape stuff. Which is cool because I love to do that — this is rap music — but at the same time, I make a lot of real good music also.

Rihanna has raised a lot of eyebrows this week with her latest body modification: a tattoo that reads “Thug Life”, in honor of late hip-hop icon Tupac Shakur. While ‘Pac had the words emblazoned across his abdomen, Rihanna opted to write them across her knuckles in what appears to be glow-in-the-dark ink.

Say what you will about whether the pop princess is living the kind of rising-up-from-the-streets life Shakur was honoring by splashing the name of his crew across his stomach, but she joins a long list of musicians who’ve used body art to pay homage to fallen homeys or musical inspirations.

When hip-hip hookmaster Nate Dogg died last year, his old friend and collaborator Snoop Dogg had an image of Nate’s face with the legend “All Doggs Go to Heaven” written on his arm as a remembrance of the G-funk singer. And while Faith Evans once proudly bore a heart-shaped tattoo that read “B.I.G.” in honor of her then-husband Biggie Smalls. (After the couple split, however, she added some ink so it read “B.I.G. FAYE.”)

A while ago we gave a first preview of the capsule collection by Vans and The Skateboarder Magazine. Here is now a first look at the two sneakers that will come as part of the collaboration. They chose to work on the Old Skool and the Mid Skool, giving both a vintage blue color upper, yellow accents and of course Skateboarder Magazine branding. Look out for these later this year.

Interview Magazine has caught up with ASAP Rocky for its February 2012 issue. The rapper is all over the place right now and keeps on gaining momentum. Just recently we reported about him making the cover of Complex Magazine.

Here we can show you now some images from the Interview Magazine story, featuring the rapper in the latest high fashion has to offer, ranging from Givenchy to Rick Owens and Comme des Garcons. We like the ‘Comme des FuckDown’ cap and beanie from the shoot, which released years ago from SSUR under his The Cut label. We reported about it in 2007 here. Love that!

When we quizzed Lil Wayne about Drake’s Take Care album sales back in November, he was real casual about the whole thing—”As far as expectations, we don’t have those around here. Expectations are a weakness in the music business”—and maybe that’s part of the recipe for success within the YMCMB camp. No expectations, just a steady grind. This year the crew is gearing up to drop more than a dozen projects and Birdman gave Complex a rundown of the expected release dates. Lil Wayne’s I Am Not A Human Being 2 for example, is expected to drop by the summer.

“Wayne’s got an album he’s about to drop real soon. Its called I Am Not a Human Being 2,” Birdman told Complex. “It’s gonna be before the summer for sure. We haven’t picked the date yet. Whenever he’s ready to drop his album, we’re gonna make it do what it do. He’s definitely got an album done and ready to go. Wayne works a lot. There’s no telling [if Rebirth 2 will happen]. But I know for sure we’ve got I Am Not A Human Being 2 ready to go. That’s the next project.”

Birdman and Wayne have also been working on their joint LP Like Father, Like Son 2, which the Cash Money CEO says is ready to go. “We got that finished too. We’ve been recording that,” he said of the album. “We never stopped recording [for] that. We got songs we want. When we get ready to drop it, we’ll probably do that in the 4th quarter. Wayne wants to do the I am Not a Human Being 2 and I want to do my solo album too, so we’ll probably do that later on.”

But before all of that, Nicki Minaj’s sophomore album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, now scheduled for an April 3 release, will kick start the YMCMB storm. “I just came from listening to her album,” Birdman said. “She’s grown so much as an artist. She’s so talented that this s— is scary. Like, wow she really is the female Weezy. Hands down she bad as a mother—er. Her talents, skills, and what she done with her music and the way she is in front of a camera. She’s just so talented to be so young. It’s a brand new style. I’m just so glad she’s on our team.”

Early in January Jay-Z became the latest hip-hop dad, when he and wife Beyonce welcomed their daughter Blue Ivy Carter to the world. With his daughter’s birth, fans got to see a softer side of Hov on the dedicated track “Glory” (featuring Blue Ivy Carter) and now they wait to see how Jay will balance his rap persona with fatherhood. Rappers like Fabolous, Fat Joe, and T.I. have already had plenty of experience with that juggling act.

Before rap, Fat Joe had quite the reputation on the streets of the Bronx, and over the course of his 19-year career, his music has reflected just that. His teenage son, Ryan, sometimes feels the pressure to live up to his dad’s rep, but Joey Crack works hard to guide him right. ” ‘Everywhere he goes people tell him, ‘I remember when your father was this, this and that,’ so he’s tryin’ to live up to that,” Joe told MTV News. “But I’m tryin’ to tell him, ‘Yo, we live in a mansion, B, like you know that’s done.’ “

Ja Rule, who is currently serving a two-year sentence on a gun charge, talked to MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway about how his life decisions ultimately affect his kids when he appeared on “RapFix Live” in April. “She needs her father,” Rule said of his teenage girl, Brittany. “My boys, they need me right now too, as well as my wife. They need Daddy, and Daddy f—ed up.”

Nick Cannon was recently hospitalized for kidney failure and spoke to MTV News about maintaining a healthier lifestyle to be there for his and wife Mariah Carey’s children.”There was a second I was thinking like, ‘Damn, what if I’m not able to instill the things that I want to instill into my children?’ ” he said of his time in the hospital earlier this month. “It just makes you think, ‘Yo, I need to give them everything I can possibly give them right now,’ and obviously it starts with love.”

Being a hip-hop father definitely changes things. Before he became a dad, Fabolous rarely rhymed about his personal life, but in 2009 he opened up about his son Johan on “Stay,” a track from his Loso’s Way album. On his upcoming Loso’s Way 2, Fab figures he will open up even more. “[Children] change the way you look at things and do things and I think the music will reflect that too,” he said.

T.I. has been balancing rap and family life for almost his entire career. He and wife Tameka “Tiny” Harris now star in the VH1 reality series “T.I. and Tiny: The Family Hustle,” where cameras follow the couple and their six children around. On the show, Tip’s kids exhibit a star quality similar to their famous dad; his son Domani is even starting a rap career of his own. “I’m not going to encourage him,” T.I. said about his son following in his footsteps. “However, I will support him if I see that he’s sincerely passionate.”

There’s a lot to consider when being a hip-hop dad, so Hov has his work cut out for him. “It’s serious being a hip-hop rapper and being a father in the real world,” Fat Joe said.

Adrienne Bailon is dispelling rumors (again) that she’s dating rapper Fabolous. The former 3LW and Cheetah Girls singer has been romantically linked to her Def Jam label mate for some time now, one of his many alleged infidelities while with baby mama Emily Bustamante of “Love Hip-Hop: 2.” Adrienne dished to Power 105.1′s Cherry Martinez that she’s a fan of the reality show but all allegations about her dating Fab are totally false. “We’re over it. We’re literally like 3 years into saying that I date Fab! Em [Emily], me and Fab … we’re over it.”

She may be over it, but the blogs continue to salivate over the thought of a coupling between the two NYC scenesters. When asked why she was spotted cozily walking into Jay-Z’s 40/40 relaunch party just the other day with Fabolous, Adrienne explained that they’re great friends and that’s just what great friends do. Duh! The singer said that she often hangs out with Emily and even goes on vacation with them as one big happy crew.

She stressed, “My best friend Ashley is Fab’s assistant. Like we’re literally a family, a crew, we all hang out together. And that’s totally normal guys. Like that’s normal. I actually don’t think I’ve ever hung out with Fab by myself. If ever someone can find me a picture of me and Fab alone–anywhere in life– PLEASE come forward. Come forward. Leak it to the blogs. We hang out … I’m great friends with his manager and we’re all friends.”

Adrienne also revealed why her real-life high-profile relationship with Kim Kardashian’s baby bro Rob took a turn for the worst. Although they were in love and moved in together on “Keeping Up With The Kardashians,” Adrienne’s traditional upbringing clashed with Rob’s less-than-normal (understatement of the century) clan. The two have remained good friends despite the falling out. “We’re super cool. We actually laugh about it now,” she said.

Slaughterhouse will finally drop their anticipated sophomore album, welcome to: Our House on Shady Records on On May 15 and Royce da 5’9″, Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz and Crooked I will embark on a 43-date tour shortly afterwards. The North American tour kicks off on March 8 and wraps up on May 3.

Slaughterhouse formed in 2008 after the four soloists collaborated for the first time on a Joe Budden song called “Slaughterhouse.” The rap quartet enjoyed some indie success when they dropped their self-titled debut on E1 in 2009 and eventually caught the attention of Eminem, who announced that he had signed the group in January 2011.

While Eminem is regarded as a lyrical god in rap circles, Slaughterhouse explained to MTV News that Slim Shady let the group do their own thing when recording the album, allowing the foursome to find their way. “He’s kinda walking on eggshells around us creatively. He’s telling us basically, ‘Do exactly what y’all did last time. We’re just gonna do it on a bigger level. Y’all don’t need me to make records; y’all can do that,’ ” Royce told MTV News in September.

Still, just having Em involved in any capacity is exciting for the group. “He’s a great person, and I think that’s one of the things that makes me most excited about the project,” Budden remarked. “Being with him, you just totally forget that he’s one of the dopest rappers and he’s so successful. He’s a great person, and he’s still a humongous fan of the culture and very much in tune with what’s happening.”

Ortiz echoed the sentiment: “He really is a fan, too, though. He’s a fan of Slaughterhouse. When he comes in and listens to songs, it’s not to critique them; it’s to listen.

“I just feel like he’s the perfect boss for this group, and we couldn’t have a better home,” Ortiz concluded.
